If others have access to your PC, it's easy for them to input a USB flash drive and import all your personal datas to it and Edit your personal documents or may be Delete them!! Its really a mess if your PC is a shared computer. So to prevent this here's a simple trick or rather we should say a hack!
1. First of all find the regedit.exe from the C Drive (C:/PROGRAM FILES)
2. Now find and go to 'HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\StorageDevicePolicies' in regedit.
3. If you are done with that create a DWORD value called 'WriteProtect' and set the value to 1.
4. Thats it! You'll be able to read USB drives, but not write to them any more.
Disclaimer: Before doing any change to regedit, always create a System Restore Point to Avoid any data loss.
